Community Outreach

Acqualina is deeply committed to the community in which it operates. In 1995, principal owners Stephanie, Jules, and Eddie Trump founded the Miami Chapter of the I Have a Dream Foundation, an organization that empowers children in low-income communities to achieve higher education and fulfill their leadership potential.

The Foundation adopts an entire class of students beginning in early elementary school, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and sustained support needed to gain entry to higher education and succeed in college and beyond. Every Dreamer is guaranteed full academic tuition at a Florida state university for a four-year degree or at an accredited trade school.

Each year, Acqualina hosts a major charitable gala bringing together South Florida philanthropists and the Dreamers they champion. The 31st Annual Miami Gala will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, celebrating the Class of 2032. These students began their journey with the program as second graders. The evening honors more than three decades of transforming lives through education, inspiration, and opportunity, and recognizes the Dreamers who have gone on to achieve extraordinary success.

Special Message from a Dreamer

Mrs. Trump:

I am at a stage in my life where it’s time to give back to those who helped me with my childhood struggles. I feel deep in my heart that some children need help with homework, just like Mr. Wiggins and his team helped me with. Everything I Have a Dream gave to me I would like to give to a child in the same way. If it was not for your team, I might have died or been imprisoned or not in good standing as I am now. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

OUR IMPACT

The I Have a Dream Foundation adopted the entire second grade class (97 Dreamers) at the Charles R. Drew School in Liberty City. A total of 95 Dreamers reached the 12th grade, 83 of them graduated in 2005 on time and 54 graduated from college. In August 2007, the I Have a Dream Foundation adopted a new class of Dreamers at Hibiscus Elementary School in Miami, the class of 2020. Out of 107 Dreamers, 96 graduated on time and five graduated in 2021. As a result, 86 Dreamers are now enrolled in post-secondary education. Our Dreamers have gone on to become teachers, social workers, secretaries, electricians, nurses, entrepreneurs, and proud and productive citizens.

The new class of 63 Dreamers will become the graduating class of 2032 and will be given the same opportunities as the classes of 2005 and 2020.
