Live and Let Dine

By Lori Capullo

Everyone knows one of the best parts of staying at a gorgeous five-star resort is trying out the restaurants. In August, that becomes an even more exciting adventure, as Miami Spice returns for the 23rd year, drawing foodies from all over to sample the menus at some of the most exciting restaurants in town. Three of those restaurants are right here on the property at Acqualina, and each experience is its own unique delight.

The legendary Il Mulino New York is offering a three-course lunch menu for $35 with a choice of three appetizers, entrées such as Rigatoni Bolognese and Snapper Livornese, and a choice of Cannoli or Torta di Cioccolato for dessert. If you find yourself chaise lounge-bound at lunch and can’t drag yourself away to eat, Il Mulino’s $60 three-course dinner menu offers a second chance.

For lighter fare, the $45 menu at Ke-uH, the resort’s Japanese/Tapas eatery, offers up delicious starters like Salmon Pizza on a whole wheat baked crust with truffle, guacamole, olives and egg, Spicy Honey Shrimp and Tuna Sashimi Tacos, mains like Spice Sushi Combo and Spice Chirashi Bowl, and Baby Back Ribs with Parmesan Truffle Fries, topped off with refreshing Mochi for dessert.

This year’s Miami Spice offering is $60 per person for three courses, featuring a selection of authentic specialties. Among the appetizer options are Cheese Saganaki, lightly fried Greek cheese with lemon and oregano, and a choice of three Classic Spreads for dipping with pita, while featured entrées include Lobster Pasta in a light tomato sauce; simply grilled Lamb Chops (for an add-on charge of $25); Grilled Organic Chicken with lemon-roasted potatoes and Mediterranean herbs and Faroe Island Salmon with grilled vegetables.
