ACQUALINA RESORT & RESIDENCES UNVEILS NEWLY TRANSFORMED GALLERY LOBBY
MIAMI, January 3, 2022 – Acqualina Resort & Residences, located in Miami’s Sunny Isles Beach and recognized for providing great living and lifestyle experiences, unveils a newly transformed gallery lobby. Designed by STA Architectural Group, the vision for Acqualina Resort’s new lobby spaces is one of refreshed luxury and contemporary grandeur using the rarest, most refined materials sourced throughout the world. The fresh color palette influenced by the emerald green waters of the Atlantic Ocean brings to life the architectural features that were enhanced and highlighted with varying shades of whites and strong punctuations of lustrous black millwork. Additional striking details feature high-style furniture, bespoke rugs, sumptuous velvet chenille fabrics, and highlights of smoke glass and warm metallic accents.
“Stepping into Acqualina will always transport guests to a rich, dramatic Italian Riviera villa, now with a brighter, lighter sensation,” said Acqualina CEO & Partner Deborah Yager Fleming. “The spaces are even more beautiful and provide a warm welcome and a gathering place for our hotel guests and residents.”
From bespoke rugs handcrafted in Nepal to Brazilian marble, custom-pearlized wall treatments, to hand-tooled leather chairs, no detail was too insignificant to elevate Acqualina’s original grandeur into a newly refined masterpiece.
“As our brand evolved, we decided it was time to cautiously modernize our beautiful villa and yet keep the magnificent bones of our beloved gallery lobby,” said Stephanie Trump, developer of Acqualina Resort. She steered fresh updates with Yager Fleming and STA Architectural Group to enhance the resort’s grand architectural elements and enrich its design.
“The pearlized walls and the shades of white highlighting the interior architectural details with hints of emerald-green on the furnishings enhance Acqualina’s stately yet casual experience. The convex mirror domes replace the round latticed medallions on the walls to add an unexpected reflective touch and play with natural light streaming through the oversized windows across the lobby,” said Isabel Tragash, principal of STA Architectural Group. “The lobby’s luminosity highlighted by the fresh color palette, the reflectivity of materials and the natural light lifts the Acqualina Resort experience to new heights.”
In the warm gallery living room-style gathering space, the furniture features contemporary Fendi Casa selections. The Bradley sofa’s tailored elegance and silk velvet pillows, swathed in bold geometric patterns of contrasting steel grey and deep plum, echo the lines of its adjacent Thea armchairs. Recognized for backrests hand-braided by Italian craftsmen, the Holly Hunt Great Plains collection chairs’ sumptuous, grey-hued velvet has touches of metallic shimmer to complement their faux-leather seats. The coffee table’s smoked glass and polished gunmetal steel frame anchors the conversational centerpiece and adds architectural interest with its staggered-height nesting composition. A hand-tufted bespoke rug, inspired by the imagery of lush, tropical foliage and emerald-green ocean hues, was designed by STA Architectural Group and crafted by The Rug Company in Nepal.
The gallery’s eight arched windows capture the afternoon sun, softened with translucent linen drapes and accented with a contrasting modern tieback. The grand chandeliers were refinished in white with silver leaf accents. The Irish Green marble archway, sourced in Italy, leads guests from the iconic lobby into the resort to begin their Acqualina beachfront getaway.
